Rubric for Research Paper

Task Description:    Choose a topic of interest to you and that is approved by your teacher. Research your topic using the internet, books, newspapers, etc. Write a paper based on your research (not your opinions). Your paper must include 5 paragraphs: an introduction, one paragraph for each of the three subtopics, and a conclusion. Follow the suggestions listed in the assignment. The final product must be typed.
Criteria 4 – Distinguished 3 – Proficient 2 – Apprentice 1 – Novice
Organization Contains five paragraphs: an introduction with a thesis sentence, three paragraphs about subtopics of the thesis sentence, and a conclusion paragraph. Contains five paragraphs but the information is brief or vague and only contains one – two sentences. Contains three of the five required paragraphs. Essay is all one paragraph.
Content Content makes sense and follows a logical order. Most of the suggestions listed on the assignment were followed.
